Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning: Applicants for the Master’s Degree are obliged to prove the recognition of their Bachelor’s level which is arranged by Lviv Polytechnic National University. There are no possibilities for recognizing non-formal and informal education.
Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements: Successful fulfilment of the Master’s educational and qualification level of appropriate year of enrollment. Fulfilment of the curriculum elements, including the Master’s Thesis internship and Master’s Thesis defence along with Qualification Examination in foreign language.
Characteristics of the educational program:
The aim of educational and scientific program is to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for successful fulfilment of professional responsibilities in the major of International Relations, Social Communication and Regional Studies (291) and specialty of International Information (291.2). Students are expected to be prepared for future employment in the field of their major and specialty.
Gained competence:
- to demonstrate knowledge of research concepts and methodology in the field of international relations, social communication and regional studies.
- to demonstrate knowledge of modern state, consistent patterns and main trends of international relations development on regional and global levels.
- to demonstrate knowledge of methods and ways of information manipulation attacks against a person, society and state with the usage of mass media, Internet and social networks.
- to demonstrate knowledge of fundamental principles and norms of the national legislation of states on information relations and intellectual property.
- to demonstrate knowledge of the role of information systems and technologies in the processes of civil society establishment, democratization and national security ensuring.
- to demonstrate the knowledge of modern methods of research in the field of international information, especially those, which require the usage of information technologies.
- to demonstrate the knowledge of solving problems and tasks related to international relations, international security and foreign policy, including internal and external conflicts.
- to demonstrate the knowledge of intellectual property law, which are expected to be respected in the course of scientific and research activity.
- to demonstrate the ability to use acquired skills of information and analytical activity in order to complete practical tasks related to international relations successfully.
- to demonstrate the ability to use methods of information and analytical activity with the aim of recognizing and analyzing of manipulative technologies in international relations and social communication.
- to demonstrate the ability to apply up-to-date software for the solving of problems related to particular subject domain, especially to international relations.

Work placement(s): Master’s Thesis internship is intended to study questions analyzed in the Master's Thesis on the basis of actual state of things, which exists within internship bases such as ventures and organizations.

Occupational profiles of graduates: 1. International Information Analyst in the sphere of applied research and forecasting of global and regional processes, interpreter. Master’s field of activity is related to informational and communicational, political and legal, social and economic consistent patterns and trends of global and regional processes. The master is able to provide consulting services in the area of international relations applying informational and communicational technologies. 2. International Information Analyst in the field of foreign policies of the European states research, interpreter. Master’s field of activity is related to historical and political, legal and economic consistent patterns and trends of the European states development. The master is able to provide consulting services on choosing and realizing optimal strategies of domestic and external policies of the European states applying informational and communicational technologies.
Access to further studies: Educational and scientific programs of doctoral studies in the following areas: International Relations (major with a number 291 in the first place), Information Technologies (majors with numbers 122, 125), War Sciences… (major with a number 251).
Other program features: Some components are available to be studied in English. Educational and professional program includes two specialties: Applied Information Analysis and Forecasting of Global and Regional Processes; Information and Analytical Support of Foreign Policies of the European States. Laboratory works are carried out in computer classes arranged with necessary equipment, linked in local networks and connected to the Internet. Students can use modern software, which is intended to apply computer modelling in the sphere of analysis and prognosis.
