Specific admission requirements: Not required
Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning: Applicants for the Bachelor’s Degree are obliged to prove the recognition of their secondary education which is arranged by Lviv Polytechnic National University. There are no possibilities for recognizing non-formal and informal education.
Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements: Successful fulfilment of the Bachelor’s curriculum of appropriate year of enrolment. Fulfilment of the educational program elements, including the Bachelor’s Thesis Internship and Bachelor’s Thesis Defence, along with Qualification Examination in foreign language.
Characteristics of the educational program:
The aim of educational and professional program is to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for successful fulfilment of professional responsibilities in the major of International Relations, Social Communication and Regional Studies (291) and the specialty of International Information (291.2). Students are expected to be prepared for future study in the field of their major and specialty.
Gained competence:
- to demonstrate knowledge of basic notions and concepts relating to international relations, social communications and regional studies;
- to demonstrate knowledge of modern state, consistent patterns and main trends of international relations development on regional and global levels;
- to demonstrate knowledge of main principles and guidelines of information policy on global, regional and national levels;
- to demonstrate knowledge of the concept, features and classifications of international information relations;
- to demonstrate knowledge of principles of work and basic characteristics of international information systems and technologies.
- to demonstrate the ability to take decisions and choose a strategy for solving formulated tasks considering common human values, social and state interests;
- to demonstrate the ability to provide the representatives of state bodies with necessary information concerning actual problems of international relations, social communication and regional studies;
- to demonstrate the ability to use methods of information and analytical activity with the aim of studying applied questions;
- to demonstrate the ability to apply up-to-date software for the solving of problems related to particular subject domain, especially to international relations.
- to demonstrate the ability to ground and explain relevant processes in the sphere of international relations and foreign policy;
- to demonstrate the ability to reveal general trends of international relations with the usage of information technologies and predict the development of events on the international arena;
- to demonstrate the ability to conduct methodologically correct researches of facts and processes on the international arena integrating knowledge from different spheres of the society.

Work placement(s): Bachelor’s Thesis internship is intended to study questions analyzed in the Bachelor’s Thesis on the basis of actual state of things, which exists within internship bases such as ventures and organizations.

Occupational profiles of graduates: 1. Analyst in the sphere of the European crisis communication with the knowledge of foreign languages. Bachelor’s field of activity is related to conditions, character and consequences of political and legal decision-making in the circumstances of crisis social and political facts on global, regional and national levels. The bachelor is able to provide consulting services on searching and analyzing information, drafting analytical documents aimed at effective decision-making along with conflict prediction applying information technologies. 2. Analyst in the sphere of international information processes with the knowledge of foreign languages. Bachelor’s field of activity is related to conditions, character and consequences of informational and communicational area existence on regional and national levels. The bachelor is able to provide consulting services on information and analytical support of domestic and external state policies applying information technologies.
Access to further studies: Educational and scientific programs of Master’s studies in the following areas: International Relations (major with a number 291 in the first place), Information Technologies” (majors with numbers 122, 125), War Sciences… (major with a number 251).
Other program features: Some components are available to be studied in English. Laboratory works are carried out in computer classes arranged with necessary equipment, linked in local networks and connected to the Internet. Students can use modern software, which is intended to apply computer modelling in the sphere of analysis and prognosis.
