On May 21, a master class on calligraphic painting by Mohammad Mehdi Razi, the Iranian artist-calligrapher, was held in the Institute of Architecture of Lviv Polytechnic. Mehdi Razi is the curator of Razi Art Gallery, the founder of the university department of calligraphic painting and a participant in exhibitions and festivals of calligraphy.
The paintings and graphic works by this calligrapher are exquisite compositions in which words, letters and their individual elements acquire amazing shapes, obeying the emotional plan and creative energy of the author.
Nowadays, in search of unique ideas, graphic designers more often use the theme of «living font». Thus the acquaintance with the process of creating calligraphic compositions was especially valuable for academics and students of the Department of Design and Architecture Fundamentals
During the meeting, the artist described the features of the Persian calligraphy and demonstrated various styles and techniques of writing, and the academics of the Department of Design and Architecture Fundamentals had the opportunity to join the process of compositions’ creation and get acquainted with the new ways of applying the artistic tools.
