Google announces the start of the team-based programming competition for students (18+) and industry professionals across Europe, the Middle East and Africa - Google Hash Code 2017.
Participation is free of charge.
Submission deadline: 23 February 2017.
Final: 1 April 2017.
The participants are to choose their team and the programming language and to solve real engineering problems: from the problems of routing Google Street View cars to the running Loon balloons for Project Loon, which aims to deliver Internet access in areas that lack conventional means of Internet connectivity.

During the first round of the competition (Online Qualification Round) top scoring teams will be notified and invited to the Final Round at Google Paris. The Final Round is to be held on 1 April in Paris.
