Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning: Providing that the previous level is received in another country, there is needed the nostrification, held in Lviv Polytechnic. Mechanism recognition of non-formal education is absent.
Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements: The full implementation of the curriculum and defense of master's qualification work.
Characteristics of the educational program:
Training the Master in speciality "Metrology and Information-measuring equipment" combines the compulsory (the basis of research and of science organization, pedagogy and teaching methodology in high school) and selective subjects of humanitarian and socio-economic training with advanced studying the courses of professional training (verification of measuring instruments, theory and the experimental appliances, metrological support of production, professional and civil safety), courses of other educational programs on student’s free choice, as well as compulsory and selective courses for the certain professional specializations "Metrology and measuring equipment", "Measurement ensuring the tests and quality of production", "Quality, standardization and certification "," Information technology in instrumentation", "Devices and systems of precise mechanics". This makes it possible to prepare professionals to address a number of urgent tasks in automation and instrumentation, which provides traceability, development, implementation and operation of information-measuring devices, facilities and systems. The total volume of the training program of specialty - 120 ECTS credits, including compulsory modules of: compulsory disciplines - 60 credits and selective disciplines - 60 credits.
Gained competence:
1. Fundamentals of scientific concepts, theories and techniques required for understanding of functionality, principles of constructing and operation of instrumentation and data acquisition systems;
2. Basic knowledge of structure, working principle and interaction of main units of single-chip microcontroller and principles of designing and programming of microprocessor-based data acquisition systems;
3. Ability to apply modern achievements of microsystem technologies in instrumentation;
4. Basic knowledge of principles of designing and operation of data acquisition systems;
5. Ability to apply modern methods and tools for designing and modeling,
of electronic, mechanical, electromechanical and optomechanical assemblies of instrumentation;
6. Knowledge of methods and principles for creation of automatic control systems, their operation and use in instrumentation;
7. Basic knowledge of materials science, design of technical documentation and advanced production technologies for instrumentation;
8. Ability to use modern software for creating, processing and analysis of mathematical models for instrumentation;
9. Ability to use modern engineering and math packages for creation of computer-supported measurement and control systems and for data analysis;
10. Ability to conduct an experimental investigation of information systems and components, document experimental results and to draw conclusions;
11. Ability to identify, classify and describe principle of action of information systems and units using simulation and analytical methods;
12. Ability to analyze state of the art, scientific and technical problems and define aims and tasks for designing of instrumentation;
13. Ability to develop guidance and regulations, technical documentation for implementation of designed products;
14. Ability to conduct a patent search to assess the patentability of designed devices and systems, execute patent applications;

Work placement(s): Research and pre-diploma practice. The possibility of training abroad according to the program Tempus.
