Characteristics of the educational program:
Educational and vocational training program is based on a combination of classic heritage and contemporary achievements of humanities sciences, primarily sociology, has marked socio-political, economic and socio-informative elements, focuses for further professional self-education. The acquisition of the planned educational program knowledge’s and practical skills guarantees professional education and training in the field of analysis of social processes at the micro, meso and macro levels, including social communication and management. Educational and vocational program includes, in particular, studying subjects included in further sample blocks of professional and practical training: "Sociological provision of informational and communicational technologies" and "sociological ensure of governance and civil authorities." Within these units, students acquire solid professional knowledge’s and acquire relevant practical skills through courses of study in which the focus is drawn to the urgent problems of modern society and technological dimensions of their regulation using an arsenal of sociological knowledge. The total amount of educational and professional program - 240 ECTS credits, incl .: a series of humanitarian and socio-economic training - 108 cr., cycle of professional and practical training -132 cr.
Gained competence:
• major sociological theories and theoretical and methodological approaches;
• major special and branch sociological approaches;
• principles and mechanisms of social object and process functioning;
• theoretical, methodological and procedural fundamentals of carrying out empirical sociological research;
• methods of collecting, processing and analysing of quantitative sociological data;
• methods of collecting, processing and analysis of qualitative sociological datа
 • developing a program of sociological study of a social object;
• planning, organization and control of sociological research;
• organizing practical activity of research groups;
• analysing social changes and application of social technologies for their management;
• processing empirical sociological data by statistical and mathematical methods using appropriate software;
• writing an analytical report or information based on the analysis of theoretical and empirical data. to determine the effectiveness of sociological research by the results of the analysis of the development of sociological theories and methodical and methodological provision for research process;
• verify statistical research hypotheses for their confirmation or refutation using mathematical methods of sociological analysis of empirical data;
• develop specific recommendations for social engineering, social project and social technological activity based on the data of theoretical and empirical research;
• provide the development and assessment of social indicators, characteristics, regulations necessary for social planning and management.

Work placement(s): During education 9 ECTS credits of practical training are provided, including practical training and practice on the topic of bachelor qualification work, which makes it possible not only to learn the methods, practiced in sociological services, but also to get experience of application of theoretical knowledge in the regulation of various social problems, including in the structures of public administration and civil government.

Other program features: The in-depth study of foreign languages and modern information technologies that have application in the analysis of social processes; The long-term scientific and educational-methodical cooperation with well-known domestic and foreign research institutions and universities, including the University of Manitoba (Canada), University of Applied Sciences in Erfurt (Germany), Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow and Academy of the Navy in Gdynia (Poland) . This makes it possible not only to apply in practice learning achievements of leading universities and scientific institutions of Ukraine and foreign countries, but also to contact with foreign students, to continue to study abroad, according to signed agreements on cooperation; The possibility to exchange of academic achievements of students of leading domestic and foreign universities at the conference "Sociology - social work – adjustment of social problems," which is held annually since 2001 at the department; The chance to practice in one of the well-known domestic sociological services - sociological agency "Fama", founded by graduates of the Department of Sociology and Social Work
