Theoretical foundations of metrology are studied. The essence and content of metrology. State metrological control and supervision of measuring instruments. Objects and methods of measurement. Patterns of measurement result formation, the concept of errors, measurement processing algorithm. Legal basis for standardization, tasks of standardization. The scientific basis of standardization. Institutions of standardization.
