Learning outcomes:
As a result of studying a discipline, a specialist should know:
- mechanical properties of bulk materials and liquids;
- Distribution of stresses in bulk material and liquid;
- condition of equilibrium of loose material and liquid;
- pressure distribution in containers of different shapes and sizes;
- method of determining the coefficients of the side tile of bulk material and liquid;
- change of the intense state of bulk material and liquid under the action of variable forces.

The trained specialist should be able to:
- to correctly determine and analyze the mechanical properties of bulk material and liquid;
- to determine the tension in the bulk material and liquid;
- determine the coefficients of mobility and lateral pressure of bulk material and liquid;
- determine the conditions of equilibrium and strength of bulk material and liquid;
- to determine the tensile state of bulk material and fluid under the influence of variable forces.

Bulk material as a friable medium. Mechanical properties of bulk materials and liquids. Investigation of the static stress state of friable medium and liquid. Form and strength of bulk material and liquid. Stress condition of bulk material and liquid under the action of variable forces. Leakage of loose material and liquid from openings, theory of leakage. Movement of loose material and liquid gutter.
