Learning outcomes:
Assimilation of technological processes of basic geodetic works, analysis of the results of space monitoring of the Earth, study of the structure and operation of high-precision and modern electronic geodetic instruments and GPS receivers;
Acquisition of practical skills in basic geodetic measurements, processes of work performed and processing of ground and satellite measurements using special computer programs;
The deepening of knowledge in special disciplines, the acquisition of work experience in the team.

Summary of the subject:
On research practice on the topic of master's qualifying work the students master the following activities:
1) Data processing space monitoring of the Earth;
2) reconnaissance, bookmarking of centers points and landmarks;
3) laying of theodolite traverse and polygonometrics;
4) leveling;
5) implementation of terrestrial geodetic measurements and calculations on the computer;
6) topographical survey;
7) construction of geodetic networks based on GPS-measurements;
8) processing of GPS-measurements;
9) dimensioning and determination of some areas;
10) acquaintance with economic issues, organization and management of production, standardization and quality control of geodetic products.

The efficiency of the new geodetic technic performing geodetic works. Create horizontal and vertical control networks on industrial sites using new geodetic instruments. The efficiency of the new geodetic techniques performing large-scale survey of sites for industrial construction. The use of new instruments for staking out of project elements. Selection of appropriate methods for detailed stake-out facilities in terms of height and plane with given accuracy and taking into account terrain conditions. Height control network stability research. Analysis of methods of orientation of underground geodetic networks. Study feasibility of different ways of construction grid creation. Analysis of methods for determining the coordinates of grid construction points. The methodology and analysis of results of deformations of engineering structures. The efficiency of the methods detailed stake-out of curves in different topographic conditions. Study accuracy of different methods of binding the planned route in the specific field and choose the best method. Research of terrestrial laser scanning results. Research UAV opportunities in application to engineering geodesy.
