Learning outcomes:
Demonstrating the deep knowledge for experiments, data collection, modelling and analysis of the results of computations, as well for creative ideas in the area of geodesy and land management. Demonstrating the knowledge and understanding of the methodologies methods, corresponding normative documents, applicable standards and specifications. Demonstrating the knowledge of the current stage and modern technologies in the area of geodesy and land management. Formulating and improving important research problems, collecting necessary information with the conclusions which should be proved in scientific context. Implement the corresponding experimental studies using the research skills of the professional thematic. Combination of the theory and practice, to adopt decisions and strategy developing to solve the issues of specialization on the basis of human values, social, civil and industrial interests. Identify, classify and describe the technology works in studied area. Implement the mathematical and statistical processing of scientific and applied activities.

Summary of the subject:
The course Geodetic Reference System provides information about the shape of the Earth and its rotation, dynamics of the Earth crust. Geodetic coordinates and natural coordinates. The international standards. Tisseran coordinate system. Helmert transformation. Celestial and Earth coordinate system implementation. Vertical reference system. Conversion from celestial to the Earth coordinate system. Fundamentals of European Earth coordinate system ETRS and its implementation as ETRF. European vertical EVRS system and its requirements. Natural coordinates and geopotential numbers. Characteristics of the main heights systems. Geopotential numbers transformation, normal heights and quasigeoid heights from one system to another. Dynamic vertical datum and heights systems, related to the gravitational field.
