Learning outcomes:
Learning outcomes: Upon completion of the module the student is expected to perform such results:
• to conduct conversations on general topics and topics related to the speciality, to express and exchange ideas and factual information about events concerned with studies;
• to show the understanding of simple and precise messages, including detailed information about warnings, announcements and instructions within academic and professional situations;
• to make arrangements by telephone in the academic and professional environment, including such situations as: connection, leaving or taking messages, provided that the interlocuter’s language is distinct.
• to write e-mails related to academic purposes, conveying direct and simple information within the scope of the academic environment and everyday life;
• to write messages and comments at a conference, expressing one’s own opinion and commenting on opinions of others, expressing one’s agreement or disagreement about information, which can be found in social networks and in the virtual environment;
• to fill in correctly application and registration forms for accommodation and participation at a conference with the appropriate level of precision and adequacy;
• to select general and specific information from texts of educational and professional content, using effectively various reading strategies;
•to recognize factual and non-factual information, important and less important, actual and non-actual one in written texts of educational and professional content;
• to guess the meaning of unknown words, contained in written texts and speeches (conversations) of educational and professional content, using the context prompts and linguistic means;
• to understand the key ideas and recognise general/ concrete information from audio and video sources concerned with education and the student’s future profession;
• to determine the aim and/or the speaker’s/author’s opinion in longer authentic texts on general topics related to education and the student’s future profession.
