Learning outcomes:
• knowledge of the principles of construction and electric power grids implementation, the basic states of operation and regulations;
• knowledge of the settlement schemes and methods of analysis states of electrical systems;
• knowledge of systems of the automatic control of synchronous machines excitation, of the voltage, reactive power, frequency and active power overflows;
• ability to analyze states of electrical systems and characteristics of regulations to assess their impact on power quality;
• ability to perform complex operations required for the efficient operation of electrical systems, automation devices and their states of control.

• Electric Power Grid;
• Fundamentals of Power System Relay Protection and Automation.
Summary of the subject:
Features of the electrical systems. Need to analyze the states of electrical systems and devices, they control. Hierarchy management grid. Man management system. General characteristics of electric power grids and systems and their states. Classification of electric power grids and systems. States of electric power grids and systems. Objectives and methods of analysis states of electric systems. Classification of automatic regulation. Control excitation of synchronous machines. Voltage control using capacitor banks and synchronous compensators. Voltage control via shunt reactors, static thyristor compensators. Control the voltage at the substation. Automatic speed control in the system and station. Automatic overflows of power.
