Learning outcomes:

Following the completion of the module the student should:
- Know the principles of structure and systems for the utilization of solar
energy, wind power units and small hydropower, devices the use of geothermal energy, bioenergy plants;
- Be able to pick up equipment and rely on thermal circuit renewable
Required prior and related subjects:

- prerekvizyty: Higher Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Hidrohazodynamika; – korekvizyty: - Technical Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer
Summary of the subject:
Types of energy and their potential. Classification of renewable energy sources and their characteristics. The energy resources of solar radiation. Active and passive solar energy systems, design features, calculation. Construction of solar collectors. Converting solar energy into electricity. Wind energy resources in Ukraine. Characteristics of wind flow. The technology of using wind energy The use of biomass for energy production and means of the processing of organic matter. Combustion, pyrolysis and gasification of solid fuels. Plants for pyrolysis and gasification. The biological process of recycling organic matter. Construction of installations for biogas production. Biodiesel technology. Hydrogen energy. The energy potential of small rivers of Ukraine and the basic principles of energy water. Classification of HPS. Construction of turbines. Calculated ratio. The heat of the Earth. Plants and geothermal heating scheme. Geothermal electricity.
