Learning outcomes:
knowledge of the main types of natural therapeutic factors and their distribution within Ukraine and in the world and the impact on health and well-being for use in medical technologies spa agencies; principles of the placement and operation of resorts and spa facilities, as well as patterns forming resort and recreational areas; understanding of the possibilities of using the potential of resort and recreational areas; basic trends of resorts in the world.
Required prior and related subjects:
Fundamentals of Tourism Studies, Geography of Tourism, World Recreational Complexes, Tourism Management.
Summary of the subject:
Balneology as science. Resorts as centers of medical and health tourism. Classification and typology of resorts. Climate as a natural therapeutic resource. Mineral water as a natural therapeutic resource. Current trends of functioning of resorts. Rules on spa treatments.
