- to know the physical basis of the construction of sensors, the technological features of the manufacture of sensors according to their classification; main structural components of electronic sensors and methods of their modernization;
- be able to choose the correct type of sensitive element in accordance with the requirements of the sensor characteristics;
- have an idea of the choice material of the main sensor parts; choose the optimal circuit for turning on the projected sensor.

Sensitivity calculation of pressure sensors with rigidly fixed membranes. Properties of membrane materials. Characteristics of semiconductor strain gauges. Calculation of sensitivity of pressure sensors with flat diaphragms welded to the body by relief condenser welding. Sensitivity calculation of pressure sensors with cap diaphragms. Calculation of frequency characteristics of pressure sensors.

Development of modern sensors. Analysis of mathematical modeling, design and technology of manufacturing electronic sensors. Semiconductor thermistor. Semiconductor strain gauges. Physical bases, technology, inclusion methods and thermal compensation of integral strain gauges. Photoconductors, galvanomagnetic, thermoelectric, piezoelectric, optoelectronic, liquid crystal, multifunctional and intelligent sensors.
