A Gala Youth Academy dedicated to the results of All-Ukrainian youth drive «SOS – historical monument», aimed at making people realize how important it is to conserve cultural heritage on the local level, to develop partnership between youth and general public in order to conserve and promote historical and cultural heritage, will be held on May 17, 2017.
The drive has been organized by the Department of the History of Ukraine and Ethnic Communication of Lviv Polytechnic National University in partnership with Lviv city council, All-Ukrainian Association of History and Social Sciences Teachers «Nova Doba» within the framework of European network of youth historical contests «EUSTORY».
The event will begin at 10:00 am on the premises of Lviv Polytechnic Scientific and Technical Library (1, Profesorska str.). The winners of the drive will be awarded in Lviv city hall at 1:00 pm. Youth teams from different regions of Ukraine, including Luhansk and Donetsk regions, participated in the drive.
The participants of the event will have an opportunity to take part in the flashmob «What is a monument talking about today», visit Lviv Polytechnic, communicate with the students and lecturers of the University, get to know more about the cultural heritage of Lviv.
