The International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, invites you to an online presentation and discussion of the results of a study on Activism of Ukrainian Migrants in the EU, which will take place on June 22, 2020.
During 2019, the IECDR team conducted a qualitative sociological survey of Ukrainian civil society activists in seven EU countries (Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland and the Czech Republic). We found out:
- who, why and how is engaged in public activities;
- what exactly Ukrainian activist associations abroad are working on;
- what challenges activists, their informal groups and organizations face;
- who Ukrainian public activists cooperate and want to cooperate with;
- how activists see their future, and whether they are ready to return to Ukraine.
The organizers offer to discuss the results of the study, as well as to learn about new characteristics of activism of Ukrainian migrants during pandemic with such guests as:
- Pavlo Sadokha, UWC Regional Vice-President of Northern, Southern and Western Europe, Head of the Working Group on External Labour Migration of the UWC (Portugal);
- Vira Konyk, UWC Regional Vice President of Eastern Europe (Estonia);
- Serhiy Kasyanchuk, Director of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) Mission to Ukraine;
- Bohdan Rajcinec, President of the Ukrainian European Congress (Czech Republic); activists from different EU countries.
All those interested in the topics of activism and migration are invited to join the conversation about the ways of further development of Ukrainian activism abroad and share their own experience in the public sector, in particular during pandemic.
The event lasts 75 minutes, beginning at 6:30 p.m. To participate, you must register till June 21, inclusive.
