Recently at the Lviv Polytechnic National University it has been opened a new laboratory MESO – service-office of Material Engineering. It was created at the Department of Materials Science and Materials Processing in the framework of the European ТЕМРUS project "Modernization of two cycles (MA, BA) of competence-based curricula in Material Engineering ". The cost estimate of the laboratory has reached more than 65000 Euros.
While speaking at the opening of a new service office, the rector of the Lviv Polytechnic professor Yuriy Bobalo noted that this project became possible due to a close cooperation of the University with the structures of the European Union, in particular, in the framework of the educational program ТЕМРUS. This made it possible to provide the laboratory with modern equipment and software, which allows not only to significantly improve the educational process, but also to carry out various searching, expert and scientific research here.
It was provided for conducting here the training courses and advanced training courses in the Material Engineering and Foundry, marketing research, monitoring and evaluation of the needs of the subjects of entrepreneurship in the region in the applied research of the Material Engineering and studying the requirements of employers, the various engineering technical works in the order of the interested enterprises and organizations etc.
The strategic objective of the laboratory MESO is a commercialization of the results of the ТЕМРUS project, a conducting of the fundamental scientific researches, a training of competitive specialists in the field of Material Science and Foundry.
