IT Department of Lviv City Council together with Lviv Polytechnic National University is working on a new project – Single Student ID. It will combine a student ID, a reader’s card, a dormitory pass, a public transport e-ticket and a bank account.
According to the IT Department, Single Student ID will also be part of the «Lviv Citizen Card» program. Thus it will become not only an official identification of Lviv students but also a possibility to get bonuses and discounts in the top outlets and institutions of Lviv.
Right now Single Student ID project is being developed. That is why the opinion of the student community about the needs and its functioning is very important. Therefore, Lviv City Council and Lviv Polytechnic National University are announcing a hackaton, where students of any higher educational institution of our city will be able to share their ideas.
Single Student ID will be introduced as a pilot project on the basis of Lviv Polytechnic. In future, each of Lviv universities will be able to join this project by sending such request to the City Council. Thus with the beginning of the new academic year, Lviv students, like their western colleagues, will be able to use all the advantages of the services provided by the educational institution and the city easily.
The presentation and the press conference on introducing Single Student ID will be held on April 19 in Lviv Polytechnic at 12:00.
