The life of St. Nicholas testified of his sacrificial, merciful and unselfish love. And those, who understand it, become testimonies of this miracle of love. For the fourth year in a row, the Polytechnician-beekeepers organize a honey celebration for the orphans from the Children’s House No. 2 in Lviv.
This year, on the eve of the Saint Nicholas Day Vice-Rector for Educational and Pedagogical Work Professor Dmytro Fedasiuk, Director of ICTA Professor Mykola Mykyichuk and technologist of Maintenance Boiler Room of our university Ihor Puhach brought delicious honey gifts to orphans. Immediately the educators gave the honey to children. It is not easy to tell you how they enjoyed it. Just imagine four year olds with large spoons loudly tasting this sweet nectar from the deep bowls. It was obvious that they like honey and know that these guests come with such presents.
– This tradition was started four years ago, when the journalist Borys Kozlovskyi (already passed away) initiated a meeting of Polytechnician-beekeepers. He invited all those who wanted, all sharing their stories. And since they were bringing a lot of honey, Mr. Kozlovskyi offered to give it to the Children’s House No. 2. We went there and got acquainted. We saw the joy of children. It was then I had an idea: let’s make it a tradition. This opinion was supported and already for the fourth time on the eve of the Saint Nicholas Day the Polytechnician-beekeepers bring honey to children, said the Vice-Rector Dmytro Fedasiuk.
