On September 7–9, 2018, the European Heritage Days in Lviv will be held for the eighth year in a row. This year they will be held under the theme «From crafts to professions: the legacy of those who create Lviv».
As always, representatives of Lviv Polytechnic National University will take an active part in the events of the European Heritage Days. In particular, on Friday, September 7, from 17:00 to 18:30, Solomiia Harambura, Director of the Museum of History of Lviv Polytechnic, will conduct an excursion Prominent Figures in the History of Lviv Polytechnic. Participants of the event can get acquainted with the exposition of the Museum of History of Lviv Polytechnic, as well as visit the assembly hall decorated with gorgeous paintings by Jan Matejko and his students. The visitors will find out what contribution to the development of education, science and technology was made by such prominent Lvivites as Ivan Levynskyi, a builder, educator and businessman, Julian Medvetskyi, a geologist and first Ukrainian rector, Janusz Witwicki, a creator of the Plastic Panorama of Old Lviv, Stefan Banach, a mathematician and many others.
On Sunday, September 9, from 13:00 to 15:00 there will be an excursion Juljan Zacharjewicz as an Intellectual, dedicated to the rector of Lviv Polytechnic in 1877–1878 and 1881–1882, due to whom the historic building of University was constructed.
