On April 16, at an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada 339 People’s Deputies voted to ratify the grant agreement from Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) aimed at improving the energy efficiency at higher education institutions.
The E5P grant was awarded under the project of Higher Education of Ukraine. The first phase of the project, defined in agreement with the European Investment Bank, has already begun. The first phase of the project involves 7 universities, including Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute, Lviv Polytechnic, Yurii Kondratiuk Poltava National Technical University, Chernihiv National University of Technology, Sumy State University, Vinnytsia National Technical University and National Pedagogical Drahomanov University.
Funding for these universities is scheduled for the third quarter 2020. By the end of 2020, the Ministry of Education and Science plans to begin procurement procedures at the other 14 universities and begin funding at the beginning of 2021.
