On March 3, the University held a presentation of the Prisoners of the Kremlin, All-Ukrainian project by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Ukraine. The project coordinator Olena Zhemchuhova visited Polytechnic. Within the framework of the event, Polytechnicians had the opportunity to meet with Volodymyr Zhemchuhov, Hero of Ukraine who took part in the resistance to Russian aggression, the organizer of the Luhansk underground, who for a year was a prisoner of the so-called LPR.
According to Mrs. Zhemchuhova, Prisoners of the Kremlin is a project aimed at national patriotic education of young people.
During the presentation, students watched a documentary film «The Prisoners of the Kremlin» and heard Volodymyr Zhemchuhov told the story of his participation in the current Russia-Ukraine war.
– Because of the injuries I received, I cannot continue fighting physically in the war with Russia, but I will do it ideologically. It seems as war is far away, but it’s not true. It seems you don’t have to be interested in politics, but it’s not true either! Yes, we adults made this mistake – we chose Yanukovych. We were not interested in politicians and their election campaigns. This is we who brought people who subsequently brought war to our land. That is why I appeal to you: be interested in social and political life, create your own parties – this is your country and you live here! If you are not interested in politics, it will get interested in you: your health, your finances and your freedom. Be active!, the speaker called on the youth.
At the end, the guests presented Polytechnicians with developmental and educational literature. Those who wished had the opportunity to get the books signed and communicate with the Hero of Ukraine in person.
