On February 12, the University hosted a training on Using Scopus to Raise University Rankings. The event was organized by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research Ivan Demydov. To conduct the training, Bartłomiej Więckowski and Krzysztof Szymanski, representatives of the Wroclaw office of Elsevier, one of the largest publishing companies in the world, which annually publishes about a quarter of all articles written in scientific journals, arrived at Lviv Polytechnic.
The editors-in-chief, responsible secretaries of the scientific journals of Polytechnic, the directors of the Scientific and Technical Library and the Center for Information Support and other interested persons attended the event.
It is worth mentioning that such events are very important for our university, as most of the rankings of higher education institutions are based on the Scopus international database, which is a tool for tracking the citations of scientific articles published by the university researchers. The Scopus database constantly indexes over 20,000 scientific journals and hundreds of book series.
Let us remind that Lviv Polytechnic has recently raised up to the fourth place among Ukrainian universities in the World Universities Web Ranking 2020, which uses the indicator of citation.
