Representatives of Lviv Polytechnic took part in the international discussion on the Second World War and the Politics of Memory

An interesting discussion on the Second World War and the Politics of Memory was held on NTA TV channel. Well-known Ukrainian politicians, scholars and historians were speaking with their colleagues from European countries about «World War II and the Politics of Memory of Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania for a peaceful future of Europe vs. Kremlin propaganda.»

The discussion was held by:

  • Rasa Jukniavičienė (Lithuania), Member of the European Parliament, former Minister of Defense of Lithuania, Former President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly;
  • Andrius Kubilius (Lithuania), Member of the European Parliament, Co-President of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, Head of the Lithuanian Delegation of the European People’s Party, former Prime Minister of Lithuania;
  • Volodymyr Viatrovych (Ukraine), historian, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Chairman of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory (2014–2019);
  • Jan Piekło (Poland), diplomat, journalist, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Ukraine (2016 – 2019);
  • Hanna Hopko (Ukraine), Chairwoman of the Board of National Interests Advocacy Network ANTS, People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the eighth convocation, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs (2014–2019);
  • David Stulik (Czech Republic), senior analyst at the European Values Center for Security Policy, former Press Officer at the EU Delegation to Ukraine;

as well as representatives of Lviv Polytechnic National University:

  • Oksana Yurynets (Ukraine), Professor, People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the eighth convocation, Head of the Ukrainian Delegation to the NATO PA (2018–2019);
  • Vasyl Banakh (Ukraine), Candidate of Historical Sciences, Senior Lecturer at the Department of History, Museum Studies and Cultural Heritage, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic National University.
