The website of the DOU community for programmers presented the university ranking for the IT industry, which is based on the results of the 2020 admission campaign. It shows which universities were the most popular and where applicants with the highest competitive score wanted to enter.
Ukrainian Catholic University ranks first by the average score of applications for IT specialties. It is followed by Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Lviv Polytechnic National University and National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv closes the top five.

Eight out of ten best universities are located in three cities – Kyiv, Lviv and Kharkiv. There are 20 ranked universities in Kyiv, 10 in Kharkiv and 8 in Dnipro. Interesting is the fact that three out of seven Lviv universities are in the top 5.
The compilers of the rankings chose four IT specialties, which received significantly more applications from entrants than others, to determine which universities employers are better to focus on, looking for employees in a particular field.
- Computer Science. The highest average score in this specialty is at the Ukrainian Catholic University (188.72).
- Software engineering. The highest average score in this specialty is at Lviv Polytechnic National University – 188.75.
- Cybersecurity. The leader in the average score is Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (173.26).
- Computer Engineering. Lviv Polytechnic is also a leader in this specialty (172.53).
