One of the priority tasks for Lviv Polytechnic is to reach the European level in education. For several years in a row, we have been actively working on the introduction of dual education at our University. The main stage is the creation of a regulatory framework that will help expand possibilities of establishing cooperation with firms and enterprises.

We have already developed a regulatory framework, in particular, we created and approved a temporary regulation on the introduction of elements of dual education in Polytechnic. We now plan to develop different schemes of work to test which ones are best suited for our education system. Elements of dual education will be introduced in some Institutes for the time being. Such an education system has already started operating at the IPEC, the Department of Heat Engineering and Thermal and Nuclear Power Plants, at IEM, the Department of Accounting and Analysis, at ICSIT, the Department of Artificial Intelligence Systems, at IEMT, the Department of Mechanics and Automation of Mechanical Engineering, and at IJPS, the Department of Theoretical and Applied Psychology and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, said Vice-Rector for Education and Social Development Roman Korzh.

Such a scheme will be implemented step by step. But already now there are tripartite student-enterprise-university agreements in various directions.

We expect that second-fourth year students and masters will study under the dual education. We tell and explain them the system, as now they have more responsibilities and, eventually, more opportunities to gain practical skills in their specialty. The companies together with the Institute management will select students for such a training, emphasized Roman Korzh.

It is envisaged that students will have practical component, which must be in a dual education system, during all their studies.
