In the international Scimago Institutions Rankings 2020 Lviv Polytechnic is eighth among Ukrainian universities

SCImago Lab has published the next issue of the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2020. Among 7026 world scientific institutions represented in the ranking, 45 are Ukrainian, including 29 higher education institutions.

Three leaders among Ukrainian HEIs include Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Lviv Polytechnic National University ranks eighth.

SCImago’s international ranking of scientific institutions has been published annually since 2011. It is based on three groups of indicators.

1. Indicators that evaluate research performance. This group includes eleven indicators, the total weight of which is 50%. Data source – Scopus.
2. Indicators that evaluate innovation outputs. This group includes three indicators, the total weight of which – 30%. Data source – PATSTAT database.
3. Indicators that evaluate social impact. This group includes three web indicators, the total weight of which is 20%. Data sources – Google and Ahrefs.
