• The student must learn - the principles of fire safety of buildings; the calculated temperature-time curves and patterns of fires; burning wood; pyrolysis of wood; fire wood; mechanical properties of wood when exposed to high temperatures; norms and rules to determine the speed and depth of charring wood;
• Basic design principles for wooden structures EN 1995-1-2: 2004; design, calculation and evaluation of fire resistance of connections and details of elements of wooden structures; Fire protection of wooden structures
• the effect of temperature on the structure of steel; mechanical properties of carbon steel under fire exposure; mechanical properties of stainless steels when exposed to fire; thermal properties of steel when exposed to fire
• method of calculating the effect of building structures on mechanical effects of fire in the calculation of structures; design principles; calculation of fire resistance of structures; simplified calculation models; critical temperature; advanced calculation models; fire protection of steel structures; use of fire-resistant steels; external supporting structures
