Learning outcomes:
Be able to:
-- choose an effective method for numerically solving the problem;
-- apply this method to the application task;
-- evaluate the accuracy of the result;
-- implement the selected numerical method on the computer;
-- to analyze the results obtained.

Know modern numerical solutions to complex mathematical problems.

-- Accurate and truncated difference schemes for nonlinear differential equations;
-- Numerical methods for investigation of nonlinear boundary value problems.
Summary of the subject:
Mathematical modeling and computational experiment, basic concepts of grid method, method of direct numerical solution of parabolic type equations, iterative methods of solving grid equations (iterative methods with Chebyshev set of parameters, alternating-triangular iteration method) are considered. the Dirichlet difference problem in a rectangular domain, difference schemes for the transfer equation, numerical methods for solving integral equations.

Assessment methods and criteria:
Current control at practical, laboratory classes is carried out to identify readiness for the classes in the following forms:
• selective oral questioning before classes begin;
• carrying out control works;
• Front-end homework;
• evaluation of activity in the process of lessons, suggestions, original decisions, clarifications and definitions, additions to previous answers, etc.
The control questions are divided into:
a) test tasks - to choose the correct answers;
b) replica questions - identify cause and effect relationships;
c) situational tasks - to determine the answer according to a specific situation;
d) reproductive issues - determination of practical significance;
e) interactive tasks.
The final control is carried out based on the results of current control and control work.
Current control - 70 points.
Control work - 30 points.
Total for the discipline - 100 points.
