Learning outcomes:
• be able to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems during professional activity in the field of pharmacy or in the process of study, which involves the application of theories and methods and characterized by complexity and uncertainty of the conditions;
• have knowledge of chemistry and technology of intermediates for medicinal and other substances, namely:
1. Theoretical knowledge of the structure of organic substances of synthetic and natural origin
2. Theoretical knowledge of the connection of the structure of organic substances with their properties and reactivity.
3. Theoretical knowledge of the basic approaches to the synthesis of organic substances and the study of their properties.
4. Practical ability to synthesize and study the properties of substances in a chemical laboratory.
5. Knowledge and skills of handling and safety in the chemical laboratory.

Summary of the subject:
Fundamentals of the modern theory of the chemical structure of organic substances, the relationship of the chemical structure with the reactivity and properties of substances, the mechanisms of the transformation of organic substances and the characteristics of the course of the most important reactions, the basic principles of modern classification and nomenclature of organic compounds and methods of obtaining, chemical properties and use of the basic classes of organic substances , in particular, those that form the basis of most pharmaceuticals.
