Learning outcomes:
•The ability to use holistic view of the formed thin organic synthesis in the search for new drug substances;
•The ability to develop processes and methods of new drug substances and products;
•The ability to detect a correspondence between the structure of matter, its physical and chemical properties, reactivity and methods of synthesis;
•The ability to compare, choose alternative ways of obtaining medicines, apply knowledge of the microbiological processes to produce pharmaceutical substances, design new biotechnological production of pharmaceuticals.

Summary of the subject:
Application of industrial biosynthesis for antibiotics and vitamins production. Antibiotics, definition, the unity of antibiotic activity and classification, the importance for human and veterinary medicine. General principals of antibiotics production. Antibiotics of plant and animal origin. Obtaining of the vitamins by the microbiological method. The technology of production of vitamin B12, vitamin A, ergosterol, riboflavin, ascorbic acid etc.
