Learning outcomes:
know the basic methods of producing metal powder manufacturing operations and production powder products;
know the classification of composite materials, the main types of matrix and fillers used in the production of composite materials;
be able to choose the technology of powder sintered product according to the specified conditions;
know the properties and characteristics of technologies for powder and products from composite materials;
be able to choose the optimum powder properties and composite materials taking into account economic factors for their industrial use;
be able to select and calculate the basic physical, mechanical and operating properties in products from powder and composite materials;
be able to choose science-based and most efficient production processes and products blanks from powders and composites;
be able to carry out calculations of basic process parameters to obtain initial components and products from powders and composites.

Summary of the subject:
Technological features to obtain powdere materials by physical and mechanical methods: spraying of liquid metal, grinding in the solid state. Equipment to obtain powder materils. Chemical, physical and technological properties of powders. Preparation of powders to form. Processes occurring during compaction of powders. Equipment for pressing powders. The technology of sintered materials. Sintered construction materials. Classification, properties and purpose of sintered structural materials. The technology of making structural sintered products. Sintered materials based on non-ferrous, refractory metals and their alloys. Sintered antifriction materials. The main trends in the development of antifriction materials made by the powder metallurgy. Factors that affect the properties of antifriction materials. General characteristics and classification of composite materials. The main components of powder composite materials. Types of matrices and enhancers, their properties. Methods of obtaining products from composite materials. Application of composite materials.
