Learning outcomes:
• To see the practical application of the most common criteria of fracture mechanics of structural materials and elements of structures with welded joints;
• Acquire the theoretical basics and methodology of evaluation of crack resistance of materials under the action of loads and working environments;
• To master the methods of determination of static and cyclic crack resistance in the laboratory;
• To learn the basics of processing methods of measurement results and characteristics of metrological support loading devices and measurement tools.

Summary of the subject:
Introduction to fracture mechanics of solids. the Main tasks of fracture mechanics. Types of defects in solids. Dislocation and dislocation mechanisms of crack formation. The stress concentration. The Kirsch Problem. The stress distribution at the cutout elliptical shape. The stress distribution in a spherical cavity and around it. The Task Of The NML. Criteria of fracture mechanics. Energy criteria. Power criteria. Deformation criteria. Theory of destruction by Alan Griffiths. Amendment of the Irwin plastic zone before a crack tip. The Task Of Sakka.
