On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the I Kvitka Cisyk International Competition of Ukrainian Romances (April 2 – 3, 2010), IECDR is launching #слухай_українське_знай_найкращих (listen_Ukrainian music_know_the best).
In 2010, IECDR became the co-organizer of the event that actually altered the trajectory of the dissemination of knowledge about our legendary Kvitka Cisyk, American coloratura soprano of Ukrainian origin, talented vocalist, Oscar and Grammy nominee in the Contemporary Folk category, and directed it to the cultural space of Ukraine. The competition was held within the framework of the Ukrainian-American project «Unforgettable Kvitka», the inspiration and producer of which was its director Alex Gutmacher. Ukrainian vocalists from 8 countries took part in the competition; the performers were evaluated by a respected jury, consisting of Nina Matviienko (chairman), Kyrylo Stetsenko and other well-known musicians! Famous Oksana Mukha received the Grand Prix.
