LESIA KRUK, LVIV POLYTECHNIC CENTER for COMMUNICATION

To work easily online and acquire digital teaching skills – for this purpose Lviv Polytechnic organized master classes for academic staff of the Department of Physical Education. The first master class has already taken place.

– According to the quarantine measures, all Physical Education classes must be conducted online, – said Nadiia Liubomudrova, Head of the Department of Personnel Training and Development. – Thus we were approached by Viktor Koriahin, Head of the Department of Physical Education, with a request to help his academic staff to acquire certain digital competencies, which are now so necessary in the realities of the modern world. Some academics of the Department of Physical Education had already had the experience of conducting classes in the form of videoconference, but others had to acquire, improve or develop their skills. That is why our Department organized such a master class. We invited a very experienced specialist, an employee of our Institute, Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology, Pedagogics and Social Management, Oleh Stechkevych. He prepared material for academic staff and held the first master class today. I want to note that all academics of the Department of Physical Education took part in the master class.

Within the framework of the master class, the participants learned how to hold video conferences in the Zoom program in order to organize distance learning.

– Also we paid attention to additional Internet services which allow you to organize the educational process for physical education academics, as they have their own specifics. They also watched video lectures on how to install the Zoom program, how to configure it and how to organize teamwork for students, as well as how to record video lessons in the same program, – said Oleh Stechkevych, Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology, Pedagogics and Social Management.

– We realize the need to develop and improve digital competence today, and that is why our Department organizes upskiling training by Oleg Stechkevych. Therefore, from November 23 to December 21, ie for a month, the training course on «Organization of the educational environment by LMS Moodle» will be held in the evenings. This is practically our VLE. We do this so that academic staff could work with this platform on their own. This course also provides work with various services that allow you to conduct various video conferences and improve the quality of distance learning at the University. Therefore, we invite academics who have such a need and want to improve their skills in using these platforms. Apply, the course will be interesting! – added Nadiia Liubomudrova, Head of the Department of Personnel Training and Development.
