As a result of studying a discipline, a specialist should know:
• bases of metallurgy and heat treatment of steels;
• theoretical foundations of welding and its main types used in construction;
• technology and technology for welding carbon and low-alloy steels.
The trained specialist should be able to:
• Practically implement the obtained theoretical knowledge in the choice of equipment and technology of welding of building steels.

Section 1. Fundamentals of Metallurgy: Iron-Carbon Alloys; Carbon and alloy steels; Thermal treatment of steel.
Section 2. Theoretical foundations of welding: Welding: basic concepts and essence; Fracture resistance of welded joints and steel welds.
Section 3. Electric arc welding by fusion: Manual arc welding with coated electrodes; Electric arc welding under flux and protective gases; Materials for welding and power supply; Low-alloy and carbon steel welding technology.
Section 4. Special methods of welding in construction.
