Learning outcomes:
As a result of studying the course students should know the essence of conflicts, their typology and causes in the system of modern international relations; modern concepts of the theory of conflicts in international relations; peculiarities of the internal structure and dynamics of the conflict; the essentials of analyzing and prognostication, methods of prevention and resolving conflicts, technologies of conflict management, stages, strategies and tactics of negotiations, methods of conflict settlement at different levels. Also, the student should be able to use at practice the methods of conflict diagnosis and analysis for studing specific international situations, to analyze the causes of conflicts; to distinguish stages of conflict; to find ways and means of conflict prevention, to use technologies of conflict management.

Summary of the subject:
The concept of conflict. The subject, object and functions of conflictology. The conceptual apparatus and system of categories of conflictology. Principles of conflictology. Methods of conflictology. The history of the incipience and the development of conflictology knowledge. Causes, structure and dynamics of conflicts. International conflicts, armed and not armed conflicts, modern “hybrid wars”. Interethnic, interconfessional conflicts, ethnic and regional separatism. Conflict analysis and expertise. Conflict prevention. Conflict management. Negotiation theory. Mediation in conflict settlement. Democratic technologies of state settlement of conflicts.
