Learning outcomes:
Know about:
• place of the discipline in the system of preparation of specialists in the field of international relations at National University "Lviv Polytechnic";
• main spheres of foreign policy of Western Europe states;
• main concepts, terminology and ideas used in doctrines of foreign policy of those states;
• main approaches to the analysis of foreign policy both in general and a specific state in particular;
• theories, concepts and doctrines used for explaining the foreign policy of state.
Be able to:
• determine main geopolitical, geoeconomic, external and internal factors that affect formation of foreign policy of Western Europe states both in general and a specific state in particular, especially role of the EU;
• estimate and characterize role and place of a particular state in global and European order;
• determine historical types and stages of development of world system;
• operating with facts and figures, distinguish the foreign policy issues of the region or its individual countries.
