Learning outcomes:
• Know the theoretical basics and practical issues of creating high-voltage electrical installations - overhead transmission lines and transformer substations;
• Understand circuit diagrams of high voltage lines and substations;
• be able to analyze the mode properties and characteristics of high-voltage electrical installations;
• have the skills to choose the parameters of high-voltage electrical installations;
• be able to evaluate the technical and economic indicators of circuit-technical solutions of high-voltage electrical installations;
• Understand the causes of environmental impacts of high voltage electrical installations on the environment and know ways and means of reducing them.

prerequisites: Electromagnetic Compatibility; Designing Lines of Electric Power Grids; Overvoltages and Coordination of Insulation in Electric Power Grids;
related and the following: Diagnosis and testing of electrical equipment .
Summary of the subject:
The theoretical bases and practical questions of creation of high-voltage electrical installations - overhead transmission lines and transformer substations are outlined. The design features of the lines and the basic principles of choice of wires, cables and air gaps both between them and to the support are considered. Methods for selecting circuits and parameters of electrical installations of high voltage and estimation of technical and economic indicators are presented. The ecological properties of high-voltage electrical installations and measures to prevent their impact on the environment are considered. Mathematical models are presented based on the methods of generalized independent variables and backward integration formulas. Prospects for development and application of high voltage electrical installations are outlined.
