Learning outcomes:
• understand the purpose and place of the course "small architectural form" in the overall training of the designer, the specific construction and application of small architectural forms in the design environment;
• know methods of searching for information with implementations in the world and learn to critically analyze them; basic methods and principles of working drawings of small architectural forms, professional terminology that is used in the development of small architectural forms, methods of finding ideas concerning the solution and implement creative idea;
• be able to independently handle projects of small architectural forms and combine them seamlessly with the environment.

Summary of the subject:
The notions and terminology in type. History of the appearance and development of written language. History of the development of the Cyrillic and Latin type-faces. History of type development in Western Europe and Ukraine in the 20th-21st centuries. Letter constructing. Materials and instruments, peculiarities of their application. Fundamental s of the work with calligraphic pens. Classification of types. Aesthetics and comfort of type reading. Requirements set to the type. Graphic description of the type. Type designing. Compositional basis of the inscription.

Assessment methods and criteria:
• During the semester a student can score 20 points on five performance graphics tasks. (20%)
• The defense of the course project and its implementation in semester test - a student can obtain a maximum of 70 points. (70%)
• The semester test student receives oral questions by theoretical material posted on lectures, in response to which the maximum possible score 10 points (10%)
