Learning outcomes:
• Ability to generalize the modern concepts and concepts of the structure of organic compounds, the main types of mechanisms of chemical reactions.
• Ability to interpret the relationship of the electronic and spatial structure of organic compounds with their reactivity and physico-chemical properties.
• Ability to outline the basic principles of creating products based on organic substances
• Be able to describe the scheme of synthesis, to prepare devices for work, to check their performance; to carry out the analysis of initial and target substances; make a comparative description of the methods that can be used to analyze the target substance; to select the reagent; to select the conditions of synthesis; competently evaluate the results of the analysis; have a good background in working with reference books.
• good knowledge of the process of creation of biologically active substances, from the moment of idea of synthesis of a substance of a certain structure, carrying out screening and improvement of the structure of the substance, up to the stage of its clinical trials and organization of production.

Summary of the subject:
General methodology for fine organic synthesis. Raw material sources. Development of chemical synthesis scheme. Selection of the method of purification of the target compounds and their identification. Areas of fine organic synthesis. Synthesis of biologically active compounds - promising substances for the creation of drugs for various purposes. Functional group substitution methods for intermediates and drug substances. The use of fine organic synthesis in the field of odorants. Fine organic synthesis when creating plant protection products. Methods of fine organic synthesis in creation of dyes of different structure and purpose.
