1. Learn the basic steps of urbanization and urban development prospects of Ukraine;
2. Overcome typology and classification of cities and their structural parts based on knowledge of historical urban and town planning;
3. Know the history of the settlement and development of urban areas (the example of the Lviv), as shaped and changed the social composition of the local population in the past. What were involved and what traditions inherited residents, as reflected in changes in the population of the living environment.
4. To be able to use the appropriate terminology in educational work (essay, coursework and thesis).
5. Use material bibliography and sources for critical reflection, followed by a statement in writing of the results.
6. To be able to shape the purpose of information and analytical studies; develop a plan and program of analytical studies; interpret facts; form and test hypotheses; draw conclusions.
7. To demonstrate the ability to solve a wide range of issues related to urban-based understanding of learned material and its application in practice.
8. To be able to speak in the media with analysis, commentary and forecasts in the field of urban planning.
9. Use knowledge of urbanity in communication with international governmental and non-governmental organizations to participate in their work.
