Learning outcomes:
gaining systematic, comprehensive knowledge about international organisations as subjects of international relations; formation of the international relations system and their influence on world’s political processes; creating holistic view about the role of Ukraine in functioning of the international organisations where it is a member-state, features of Ukraine’s cooperation with international organisations of a global type and regional associations; gaining systematic knowledge on aims, principles, tasks, major activity directions of international organisations, their role in political processes at the global and local levels; learning about organisational and functional structures of leading international intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations; mastering skills for applying obtained theoretical knowledge when assessing and analysing activity of international organisations and non-governmental organisations in the global arena; developing ability to determine the level of functioning and activity efficiency of intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations; developing ability to assess the degree of international organisations’ influence on global and regional political processes; developing ability to define mechanisms of organisations’ influence on international relations and world’s politics; forming the students' analytical and critical way of thinking.

• Corequisites: The European Union in International Relations.
Summary of the subject:
International organisations in the system of international relations. Main stages of establishment and development of international organisations system. Mechanisms of international organisations functioning. Intergovernmental organisations: features of activity, organisational and functional structure, classification. Non-governmental international organisations as subjects of international relations. The United Nations Organisation in the international relations system. The North-Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). Historical evolution and theoretical principles of the concepts of political and economic integration of Europe. Institutional and legal principles of the European Union (the EU) creation and functioning. The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (the OSCE) and its role in the international relations system. Regional integrational associations (organisations) in the Asian and Pacific region, in America and Africa. Ukraine in the system of international organisations.
