Learning outcomes:
• Know the principles of forming routes overhead lines and cable lines;
• know the methods of choice of wires and insulation of overhead lines and cables of electric cable networks;
• be able to use the standards, regulations and guides;
• be able to perform the calculation and wind and ice loads on the wires overhead lines;
• be able to perform the calculation of stresses in the material of the wire, the critical length segment and the critical temperature, the largest sagging wire on the segment;
• be able to choose wire of overhead lines and cables for cable lines;
• be aware of the main directions of development of electric networks;
• be aware of the basic tasks of designing overhead and cable lines and features of designing of overhead lines of electric networks with voltage up to 1 kV.

Summary of the subject:
Current approaches to design overhead lines. The route and safety zone power overhead lines. Rationing the strength of the overhead lines. The main tasks designing overhead lines. Choice wires and isolation overhead lines. Mechanical load overhead lines. Climatic loads and impacts. The load on the wires overhead lines. Equation wire. The equation of the status of the wire. Tension in the combined wires with the steel and aluminum. Features of designing of overhead lines voltage up to 1 kV. Designing of cable lines.
