Learning outcomes:
• ability to carry out search, to analyze and to critically estimate information on the last achievements in the field of development of the systems for collecting of information and control;
• knowledge of development trends and major new developments in the field of information technology in the problems of electrical engineering, as well as in related fields;
• ability to apply information and communication technologies and programming skills to solve tasks related to the use of SCADA systems;
• ability to apply professional-profile knowledge and practical skills when designing automated control systems;
• basic knowledge of basic legal acts and reference materials, current standards and specifications, instructions and other regulatory documents for ensuring the functioning of SCADA systems in power systems.

Summary of the subject:
Explanatory note: Analysis of initial data and technical documentation. Choice of technical means of the systems for collecting of information and control. Development of the structural diagram of the information and control system for substation. Organization of information network. Configuring the top level of the information and control system. Graphical part: block diagram of the information and control system for substation, scheme of organization of information network.
