Learning outcomes:
• to know the types of power plants, energy data of condensing power plants and combined heat and power;
• be able to develop a thermal circuit and piping systems TPP and CHP to choose their main and auxiliary equipment;
• be able to calculate the balance of water vapor and thermal power station schemes, to determine the performance efficiency of thermal power station facilities.
Required prior and related subjects:
• Heat-generating installations,
• Heat engines.
Summary of the subject:
Power engineering and the types of plants. Energy performance of power plants. Initial parameters and intermediate overheating steam. Regenerative feedwater heater. Balance sheets of steam and water ways to replenish losses. Issuance of technological steam for thermal power station. Supply of heat for heating. Deaerator and nutritious plant. Power Equipment features of TPP. The principal and a full (detailed) thermal power plant scheme. The choice of power plant equipment. Technical water supply systems for TPP and their technical and economic characteristics. Fuel, ashes and slag economy menage of plant. Fuel economy and slag plant. Cleaning and removal of flue gas from boiler units. The general plan and exploitation of TPP performance. New and promising types of power generating equipment.
