Learning outcomes:
• to understand physical fundamentals of electric devices operation;
• ability to analyze electric devices operation and understand conditions of their operation;
• to choose typical electrical devices for practical tasks solving ;
• to define parameters and characteristics of devices depending on conditions of their exploitation;
• to use properly electrical devices and conduct electrical measurements of electrical non-electrical values.

• Physics,
• Further mathematics;
• Electronics and microprocessor devices.
Summary of the subject:
The structure of electric circuits (sources, consumers), elements (R, L, C) and their properties. Basic laws of electrical engineering (Ohm's law, Kirchhoff’s laws). Methods of electric circuits’ analysis. AC single-phase circuits. Three-phase balanced circuits. Transient processes in the electric circuit, switching devices and commutation laws. DC magnetic circuits, their properties and application spheres. Fundamentals of electrical devices operation: transformers, electrical machines. The main characteristics, choice and exploitation of AC and DC motor.
