Learning outcomes:
• to know modern methods of molecular biotechnology and bioengineering to produce a new biotech objects;
• to know modern methods of GMO identification and immune- and DNA diagnostics;
• be able to evaluate the effects of cell and genetic modification of microorganisms; to assess risks of bioengineered products; to choose different methods of DNA analysis;
• be able to choose the technology for medicine production by molecular biotechnology methods.

Summary of the subject:
The principles of obtaining transgenic organisms. Problems of foreign genes and proteins. The identification of GMO. Methods of immunodiagnostics, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, monoclonal antibodies, and hybrid cell lines. DNA diagnostics, molecular diagnostics of genetic diseases, and polymerase chain reaction, fluorescent primers. Drugs to prevent rejection of tissues and organs, drugs bound to monoclonal antibodies, HIV.
