Physical and Colloid Chemistry

Major: Fine arts, decorative art, restoration
Code of Subject: 6.023.00.O.25
Credits: 3
Department: Physical, Analytical and General Chemistry
Lecturer: prof. Voloshynets V.A.
Semester: 3 семестр
Mode of Study: денна
Learning outcomes:
• Know the concept of the system, thermodynamic method for evaluating equilibrium of various processes, consisting of a large number of particles including processes that may occur in architectural monuments made of stone - chemical reactions, phase transitions in one-component systems, formation of a solution.
• Know the kinetics of chemical reactions, be able to apply kinetic method for evaluating the rates of chemical reactions
• know thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of the formation and stability of colloidal systems, to be able to use both methods for evaluating the sustainability of monuments made of stone
Required prior and related subjects:
Materials of natural stone
Special chemicals
Summary of the subject:
Chemical thermodynamics, the concept of system analysis balance chemical reactions, equilibrium in one-component systems, solutions of non-electrolytes and electrolytes, kinetics of simple and complex reactions, the concept of catalysis, especially highly of their classification, adsorption, wetting, electrokinetic phenomena, optical, high molecular weight compounds, coagulation and stabilization of colloidal systems, gels, jelly, powders and pastes
